My Top Five Favorite Etsy Shops (Besides Oh, Hello of Course)

My Top Five Favorite Etsy Shops (Besides Oh, Hello of Course)

Although I own my own Etsy shop and website I still can’t help but go a little crazy for other Etsy shops’ stickers. Plus I’m constantly being asked what my favorite shops are besides my own so I thought it finally time to let the cat out of the bag. So here they are in a neat little video package in no particular order.

How to Organize Your Planner Stickers

How to Organize Your Planner Stickers

Planner sticker organization can be a tricky thing the more your collection expands. You want to be able to access all of your stickers while still keeping things reasonable and organized. Today’s video shows you how I organize my mess of stickers into categories in an accordion file. From functional to decorative I break it all down and give you a show of my collection as well.

The Easiest Way to Get Into Planner Decorating

The Easiest Way to Get Into Planner Decorating

The Easiest Way to Get Into Planner Decorating
Planner decorating has taken my little world by storm and I’ve loved every second of it. It does seem like quite the daunting thing to dive into if you’re considering trying it out, so I thought I’d write a quick chatty post about the easiest way to get into planner decorating.
So I don’t recommend buying shed loads of stickers or supplies because if you’re just getting started, you won’t know what you need! The best way I found is to buy a weekly kit and give it a go for a week. That way you aren’t putting too much money in, you’re able to get a sense of your planning style, and you’re about to see exactly what stickers you tend to gravitate more. The kits always come with a good variety of functional stickers so you aren’t getting stuck with a bunch of one type. Once that week is over you’ll know if it’s for you or not and if it is, what stickers you should get more of.
If you can’t possibly pick one specific weekly kit theme to bank your whole planner decorating experience on, then sampler sets are the way to go. You’ll get a bunch of little icons and functional stickers that you can play with in your current planning style without having to devote completely to the concept. When I started planner decorating I added a few icons and things to my normal planning style and expanded on it from there. Sampler sheets allow you to quickly see what stickers you use up and which ones you’ll never use and can purchase full sheets of whatever icons or decorative stickers work best for you.
But honestly the easiest way is to just give it a shot and see what happens. There are so many different forms of planner decorating and piling on the stickers is just one of them. Test things out here and there and you’ll be sure to find a style that makes sense to you.
Have you tried planner decorating yet?

The #1 Thing I Learned While Planning Our Wedding

The #1 Thing I Learned While Planning Our Wedding

Our wedding is about six months out and we’re knee deep in planning preparations. Our save the dates are out, or venue picked, and dresses obtained. Through this whole process so far there have been the fair share of headaches and people who want to help but just are being pushy. Yet through all this classic wedding planning woes, I’ve learned one very important thing.
It’s just a party.

At the end of the day all we’re really planning is a party. It’s not a life or death event that determines how our marriage will be for the rest of our lives. It’s just a gathering of people we love who want to see us succeed in a nice place with pricey chicken.
And you know what? Keeping that sentiment in my heart throughout this whole process has made it a million times less stressful. Sure I still want things a certain way and I have an idea in my head of what I want it to look like, but at the end of the day the wedding won’t be ruined if the centerpieces don’t look a certain way. All that really matters is that Alex and I celebrate our love for each other.
It’s a freeing thing when you realize a wedding is just one over priced party. Now I can actually enjoy the entire journey rather than being a ball of stress. Because I love the man I already consider my husband without the legal document. And that’ll make our wedding the best ever.

When Planning & Scrapbooking Became One Happy Family

When Planning & Scrapbooking Became One Happy Family

When Planning & Scrapbooking Became One Happy Family
It’s basically the best thing ever. Scrapbooking is that mythical beast that’s always interested me, but I’ve never been able to produce anything of quality over many years of earnest attempts. Yet I’ve always had a knack for planning and organization. So when the Polaroid Zip portable printer came out and teamed up with Erin Condren, all of my wildest dreams came true.

Now you don’t need the Polaroid Zip to add photos into your planner. Any printer and some glue could do that, but it’s about the coolest thing to happen to planning in a very long time. No longer do I have to look longingly at well done scrapbooks knowing I’ll never have the time, skill, or money to pull it off. Plus if you keep your old planners like I do, it’s that much cooler to flip through.

Planning has definitely changed things for me in the past few years. Not just in how I stay organized, but in my career and general life. It’s been life changing to be honest and I love that it now can become an even bigger part with adding in photos.

If you haven’t added a photo to your planner yet, give it shot. You’ll soon realize that the planning/scrapbooking line has been blurred to one happy mix.

How I Stay Organized

How I Stay Organized

How you organize yourself really should adapt and change just like your life does. Although I just recently filmed this video, I’ve already started looking for a better, easier way to streamline my organizational process to work the very best for me. It’s totally ok to be happy with it one week and want to switch things up the next!
What do you do to stay organized?
